why is the front side lights staying on all the time on my renault grand espace?

I think it's a safety feature, Volvo's do the same, the lights come on when your driving regardless of weather you turn them on or not....

on the top of the cowling by the steering wheel is a switch this may be on parking lights or you are turning the key to far back when you take the keys out,,
