Windows Defender Trouble?

Question

Recently I uninstalled Win Defender (it was running fine and up to date but because i found two entries if WD in Add Remove so I got suspicious). Uninstallation was smooth. Then I downloaded the latest from Microsoft site. I use Genuine WinXP Pro (build 2600, sp2). But now, when I install the new WD it reports "The older version of windows defender could not be removed. Contact your technical support group." Any help?

try removing all entries of WD in add/remove,including the current one.then reinstall it.or do what it says-contact support

that probably menas that u havnt uninstaller WD correclt b4
so try to do that
