my dream room! would it be perfect?

We just redid my house and it took my parents 20 years of saving so we went all out! i did my room a lime green to make it oceany and tropical! i love love love nething with dolphins or ne thing that has a beach and i love tropical fruits!! ok im gettin way off here. my point is i found the most awesome hawiian comforter set and it's blue. would that mke my islandy dream room look perfect? i have a hole lot more ocean stuff too!!!

Girl, you know it will. I hope your room comes out great! you sound ecstatic about your new arrangements! I can't wait to re-decorate my room. My room is like a creamsicle color, the walls are painted a peachy-orange and it's done in bright flowers, butterflies, and frogs which is what I was into four years ago when I was 13. But now I'm getting older and I want to turn it into something more mature and calm.

Why don't you add a nice large palm plant to quiet the room as well? Colors are great, but it needs an anchor to pull it all together. Or maybe some wood tones as well. Check out HGTV.com for Design on a Dime or Shabby Chic or Decorating Cents. They'd have more ideas as well.

Sounds good to me. Anything that will enhance the ocean theme will work. Match colors according. HINT: Can put netting on the wall and hang starfish, shells, anchor, etc. in it. Makes for a good look. You may already have thought of this. OR can also use the HEAVY thick rope like used on one of those rope things that looks like a net that you can climb on. for an added touch you can buy at a craft or party store glow in the dark stars that stick to the wall or ceiling. I put these on my daughters ceiling and installed a black light in her room and when the lights were off at night and the black lite was on it looked like you were lying out in the dark gazing at the sky. COOL You can get creative and make a palm tree too. I saw one in an office one time and asked how they made it. She told me she got a cardboard tube from a roll of carpet(carpet store will give you this when one is empty) and paint and decorate it to look like the trunk and use heavy weight construction paper for leaves and styrofoam painted to look like coconuts. Can buy all needed at craft store. GET CREATIVE

It sounds perfect to me, but you may want to shop around a little to make sure this is exactly what you want. You don't want to jump on the first thing you find, and then perhaps find something you like even better, after you've already used the bedspread. Have fun in Paradise!

It's your room ... do whatever turns your crank. A Hawaiian comforter set sounds like it would fit in well though with your motif, but why not place a couple of palm trees in separate two corners and string a hammock between them?

Check out the return policy of the store you saw it at and follow all of their requirements. Buy it take it home and put it on your bed. If you don't like it, put it back in the package and take it back to the store.
