If there is a better place to go after this life then why mourn our dead? Shouldn't it be a celebration? We've lost them here, but they are going to recieve their ultimate reward... and if you actually believe what you say you believe, it will only be a matter of years before you are reunited with them... So why all the tears, black clothes, and such?

everyone like to believe there is something better after life, if anything at all, but everyone knows, if not liking to admit it, that the person they know is gone, and there is a miniscule chance of being reunited with them at the end of the peroid of fragility that we call life, here on earth

Even in the Bible a certain amount of time was given for people to grieve the dead. Also, a lot of people don't die such nice deaths. Would you not cry for your elderly mother who had been raped to death? What about a child who died too soon due to gang violence. Some people are actually relieved for the death of a loved one who has suffered for many years before their death, but they still grieve for that person is no longer here with them. I guess you're that type of person who has to walk in another's shoes before you understand, which is sad because that means you don't have the capacity to feel for others.

It is the loss of the physical person we mourn, not the spirit. The spirit goes onto the summer land where it waits for the next time it decides to be born again. Or whatever afterlife you believe in. People need a mourning period to come to terms with the loss of a person who has enriched their lives. To know that that person will never be there again is a huge loss. Black clothes are a historic tradition, it used to be white.

Good! That is exactly what the Bible says.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words."

some people may mourn their loved ones because not all of them may have believed that Jesus Christ died for their sins, becuase they will miss being around their loved ones, because they enjoyed talking to their loved ones, etc. there are many reasons to mourn. if i love my family member and i believe that person is going to heaven, that doesn't mean that i'm not going to feel emotion when that person died.

actually i don't even like funerals. i think a lot of it is just a money maker for the people in the funeral business and a partial waste of time.

i might want to ought to assert the Christian Heaven because from the comments from close to lack of life reports it truly is a feeling it truly is previous explaining, it truly is so appropriate, sort of like an never-ending orgasm. The perpetual state of nothingness would not sound like the kind of position an energetic thoughts might want to favor to be, the virgin component, who's conscious what the virgins are going to look like they could all weigh 350 pounds and characteristic teeth lacking. Reincarnation isn't a heaven component, this is coming lower back to earth to be contained in the land of the residing, this is the only position that you may want to be tried and examined so that you may want to be an over comer, to conquer the lust of the flesh, the lust of the interest, and entertainment. in case you try this even as your right here you received't might want to be ashamed or shown up once you bypass to heaven, count number of truth you may't bypass there till you try this commonly used, it truly is a call for, and there aren't any set sort of those that could receive that, it truly is to whom soever will. there is not something you may take with you to make hell extra gentle, you received't like it besides, the that technique of eternal or eternal means that it will be your very last resting position. No coming lower back, Jesus suggested that the depraved will be accrued to gether like branches to be thrown into the furnace, So what takes position to branches even as they're thrown into the furnace? They dissipate, destroyed, now not exist. For eternity. it truly is it. no extra possibilities.

As a matter of fact, my wife is going to a funeral today so we just had this conversation. We grieve because we will miss having them in our lives, however we celebrate the lives they lived and the affect they had on our lives when they were here. I know that she is in a better place but that doesn't mean I won't miss her presence in my life.

I believe in the after life and I am a Christian. I am sorry I am selfish. I do not want those that I love to be taken from me. I know in time I will see them again but in the meanwhile I will miss them terribly. This is how I am selfish, they that was in pain are now free, they are with the Lord but I want them back. I cry for my loss not their gain.

Mourning is a natural human instinct. We mourn because we will miss our loved one and we will not be able to see them again here on earth, this is where another human instinct comes into play. Selfishness, we can't wait until we meet that person again because we want them in the here and now. Humans want what we want and when we want it.

I fully intend for my funeral to be a happy celebrational send off. I do not mourn the dead. I regret things i should have said, perhaps but I do not mourn their passing. I will see them again and for noe I have my memories to hold onto.
