It is very intrinsic...
There is no other sin like sexual sins because in sex the body and the spirit are joined between two people like no other way. There is a bond that occurs that God gives to two married people, and while the pleasure and bond is a precious gift from God, man and society have corrupted it so greatly.
The world does not even have the knowledge of how wonderful the gift of sex is to a man and woman that wait for marriage. God blesses a married couple's love life incredibly when they wait. My wife and I waited three years - it was very difficult - but it has been amazing because we did. We never tire of each other, it is frequent and incredible and when youhave waiedt for someone you really aren't interested in other people.
Interest in other partners by those in a marriage or relationship is a terrible by-product of a promiscuous lifetsyle - in time many just want other people. But in God's way it takes away those desires for others - and isn't that what we want? Commitment, fulfillment, frequent pleasure - God knows that and he blesses it - but our society has created a mess that has caused immeasurable harm to indulge and please ourselves.
What could be more intrinsic? The love of a man and a woman is awesome from the deepest parts of the heart - and God who created it, in a powerful and loving context blesses it.
Follow his way and not man's - because the one who created it puts order in all things - to indulge ourselves causes harm and is a sin for that reason - to follow God's way brings a special gift, treasure and blessing.

There are good solid reason to find someone and stay true. Aids, and the full menu of STDs are one big reason. Another reason is so that children have stability in the formative part of their lives. They need support (cloths, a home, food, and love) This has been shown to best provided in a home with a father and a mother. Betrayal of these important reason to stay true is SIN.... Jim

It is a sin when it falls outside the natural order of things as God permitted. It is a sin when done outside of marriage. And it is a sin when both parties are not in agreement on it's occurance or if one of the parties is not fully cognizent of what is taking place.

According to the Ten Commandments. You shall not commit adultery. It does not say you shall not have premarital sex. However it does say… Leviticus 20:13:”If a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death.”
After all it is Man not God who enters into binding legal paperwork. You can make a commitment to another before God and that should be sufficient.

If your referring to Biblical rules. Any sex outside of marriage is a sin. What you do between you and your spouse alone and in private is up to you.
