Picasa and Adobe Elements I have found to be the best combinations. Adobe gives the added flexibility when it comes to editing. But for easy storage and retrieval, Picasa by far is the best and Free. Besides you can create a screen saver out of your photos with Picasa. And in my opinion it has the best straightening tool for slanted images. If you have not tried Picasa download it free at http://www.geocities.com/lcming/Digitalphotography and at the same website download free another software that allows you to resize or scale down big images to smaller handalble size. Called Visualizer Resizer.

I bought PS Studio and it is exceptionally good. Ulead had more features but not quite up to the first. Adobe and other freebies all have some very good features but all in all, I plumb for the first.
A word of warning about Yahoo photos. You can download loads of your photos here and invite friends to view them. Always keep copies on your hard drive as when you try to retrieve a photo from Yahoo, it will be smaller and lose resolution, and therefore print very badly.............

For storing photos? I have found that I prefer doing it manually, without any special programs. It lets me have more control over where the files are going, how they're organized, etc..
