I am having a new clothes dryer delivered on Sunday (tommorrow) and having the old one taken at the time of delivery. How much should I tip the delivery people? I live in Maryland, if that matters.

I work in an appliance store, and our delivery guys rarely get tipped. If it is being delivered on Sunday, it might be nice to give them a little, but I doubt they are expecting anything.

If it is a normal delivery then nothing. However, if they have to deal with a lot of steps, or anything extra (like taking doors off the hinges etc.) and they hook up the old one and clean up their mess, then $10-20 would be a very nice gesture.

I gave them $20 when my fridge was delivered (there were 3 guys). Enough to buy a round of coffees, i guess. They took away the old fridge, put in the new fridge, installed the doors the way I wanted, installed the door handles, and hooked everything up, including the water lines to the ice maker. I figured that was good service.

I would say that depends on if they deliver it undamaged, into your house
Hook it up, remove the old one
And not destroy your house in the process
Probably 5 bucks a man (2 man job)
But tell them in advance that you only tip if the job is done right!
Most people wind up with appliances dumped off in their drive, and excuses about the old one was hooked up so they do not remove it!

Nothing, they are getting paid to deliver and set up the equipment for you. Offer them something to drink or a light snack and nothing more.

Nothing. I've never heard of such a thing! If you are feeling generous and you think they do an exceptional job, you can give them five dollars, I guess, but I don't think most people tip them. It isn't expected.

You do not tip these people but maybe a bag of holiday cookies would be a sweet gesture.
