If this is a 'military' question, the answer is no. It is the Household Cavalry that have to be very tall. The Irish Guards are a normal battalion from whom the actual Guards are selected.

If we are talking of the Irish Guards (Gardai) or Irish Police - there does no longer seem to be a minimum height as in most police forces, especially in England it was held to be 'racially' incorrect that most Chinese, many Indians and other Asian people were not eligible due to their lack of height.

Hi my brother is a scots guard and is very short plus hes not even scottish so no you dont. You have to be vey fit though almost to the level of the paras. Good look to you mate and as im joining the SG i may one day see you up in catterick. lol probably not.
