Agreed.
Religion, more than any other force on earth, has caused more misery and death than anything else in the history of mankind.
It is a blight on humanity and must be wiped out like a cancer.

I don't think Saddam being a madman, had anything to do with his religion. Evil people hide in religions and claim to be religious all the time, but they arn't. That does not make religion evil, its the person using religion to hide behind, an evil person. Like Ted Bundy the serial killer, even tried to be a mormon for a time, because Mormons appear to be so family oriented. I don't think Saddam personally killed all those people because od his religion, I think he did it for his own pleasure, and power.

Religion is about war and death.

With the fall of the Roman Empire, the librarian of Alexandria was pulled off her carriage and skinned alive. Literacy dropped. Even the Pope had to have the Bible read to him. In the first crusade, Christians killed tens of thousands of people they called "infidels". The Children's Crusade (1212) caused the deaths of nearly 50,000 children. Preachers sentenced to death and executed thousands during the Inquisition (1233-1834) for heresy and witchcraft. There were the Salem witch trials (1692) in America. The 17th Century Thirty Years War (Catholics v. protestants) wiped out tens of millions in Europe. In the Taiping Rebellion in China in the 1850's a Christian cult started a war that resulted in the slaughter of twenty million people. In the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered. Muslims and Christians in Bosnia reached a death toll of over 250,000.

Saddam Hussein wasn't executed over religious beliefs. He died because of the crimes he committed.

It's not a murder. If you are not a big fan of capital punishment then it's your view. Don't try to impose your view on others who beg to differ or else you are just similar to Bush. A life for a life - that's the law of God. Saddam took not just one life, but you-know-how-many - many.

God knows best.

What about all the people that Saddam murdered. Babies, women, children, innocent men because they dared not to follow him, Get your facts straight, He was tried and found guilty!! Justice was carried out, He is dead now and there are alot of Iraqi people who know can breathe a sigh of relief.

Religion is not evil. Individuals with their own agendas who use religion to hide behind are evil. Saddam's death was no less that what he earned and I am only sorry it was so short a death

Saddam was evil and was justly executed. His own son before he was killed in a blast 3 years ago used to tie innocent people up and shove them into the large wood chipper. He also loved to rape people as well. Both men are the spawn of satan.

The death of Hussein is a result of his evil. It has nothing to do with religion because he was not a religious man.
