Will jumping help me lose pounds? Also, how long should i jump ropre for a day to see results in a week?

It's a highly aerobic activity. You may not be able to jump for 30-60 minutes right away, so you should build up to it.

I'm not a doctor or a trainer, but I imagine it could be hard on your knees if done improperly, so wear good shoes and try to jump on a surface with some "give"--in a gym or on grass or a wooden deck rather than on concrete.

Jumping rope definitely burns calories which will cause you to lose weight, but keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, and so as you are losing weight you will also be toning muscles. Because of this the scale may show that you are not losing weight. Don't weigh yourself and get hung up on what the numbers say. Instead go by how you look and how your clothes are fitting. You will find that they will start getting looser. Good Luck!

it will help you lose weight and build muscles. I jump rope for about 5 minutes, and increase it everyday. you will see results

yes, good cardio as well. i would try to do it 30 to an hour each day.
