Heartburn shouldn't last for three days, but it's possible that your stomach is still trying to settle from all the junk you (and me, and everyone else!) ate. For starters, it is better to eat small, healthy meals several times a day, as opposed to large meals only a few times a day. Avoid fatty or fried foods, and anything tomato-based. These things can really irritate heartburn. You can always take Tums or Rolaids to temporarily relieve symptoms of heartburn... in my humble opinion, Rolaids seem to work a bit better. Sometimes when you are laying down, heartburn can be a bit worse, so if you feel it coming on when you're in bed, stand up for a bit... sometimes that forces a burp, which can make you feel a little better. Last but not least, if you have chronic heartburn, don't hesitate to talk to your doctor about a pill like Prilosec OTC. I began taking it, and the relief is nothing short of astounding. I haven't had heartburn in two weeks! I've been suffering from it for years and years, so it is really wonderful to finally find relief.
Good luck! :)

Acid reflux is caused by eating fatty foods and processed foods. A simple solution is to change your diet and eat healthy foods. Much has been written in diet books about food groups both good and bad.
A product which should be available in your local supermarket should help ease your symptoms. Good luck.

sounds silly, but sleep with your head elevated on a pillow. This helps the junk form coming back up your throat. Also, try a spoonful of vinegar. See if this calms your stomach down. Seriously.

Good answers so far.
You can try the generic versions of Zantac or Pepcid, or Prilosec OTC. Any one should work well.

i would go to the drugstore and get Zantac or Pepcid. I have taken both when they were prescription only and they work well.
