He is afraid. These are the things that Guys say when they want something but are afraid of the situation.
If casual means lets take it slow and see what happens, that's an adult approach.
If casual means I want to be able to have sex with you but no commitment then that's a childish approach.
My wife and I were married for 16 years. Divorced for 3 and have been remarried for 15 years now. We also have a 14 year old son who is the joy of our lives.
Anything is possible.
love and blessings Don

I also tried this with my ex and all I wanted was a benefit package from her and tried explaining this but she somehow got confused and started to talk like we would end up back together. At first this relationship was more of a confienience then anything else but ended with her feelings being hurt once again. Find out if he is just wanting a sex partner or trying to recapture a relationship with you. After you find out then keep an open mind and it will be up to you to make a decision if this is the type of relationship you want, or if you want to get on with your life and start anew. Best of luck.

Casual means yes,.. he and you can see other people
THe real question is,. are you to really both happy with the divorce?
Before you continue this relationship,.. you better both decide what you want... Talk to him,. because if you need to make a clean break the sooner the better,..
but if theres still something to reconsile,.. better think about taking care of that too.

Casually means we can go out, have some laughs, have some sex, but don't even think that we are ever getting back together.

It sounds like he needs someone for casual sex when he gets the itch. He's hoping you can fill the bill. Don't fall for it.

No casual dating after a big breakup, only great 'hate' sex.

I think what he means by casually is taking things slow.
Good luck.
