Try going up gradually by going a couple shades lighter than your original color and then lighter the next time. It's not as noticable and before you know it you can get away with the nice colors that both Janet Jackson and or Mary Blige have.

dont go blonde! it will be an orangey color! instead i suggest that u warm up ur current color with some softer lighter brown highlights. u can do a couple different colors too to make it fun and the maintenence and wear and tear wont be as hard to keep up as bleach.
