I have liked him for a while, and I know he likes me, but all of his friends make fun of him for liking me because I am three years younger. I just want to know if there is anything illegal with a 16 year old dating a 19 year old. Please help quick. Thanks!!

Actually, dependent upon what city and/or state that you live in, your 19 year old can be charged with statutory rape since you still probably live at home with your parents, and only if your parents pursue the charges according to the police where I live.
16 is considered the age of sexual consent in the city where I live, and a 19 year would have to have parental permission.
As a parent, I would question why a 19 year old is hanging around a high schooler....As a parent I would not want my kid dating someone out of school. The experiences between a 19 year old and 16 year old are are pretty different.
Why can't you date someone in your school?

Is is not, 3 years apart. What is illegal is when is a minor when an adult. In other words 21 with a 16 (probably illegal) but anyway liking someone isn't illegal.

Its legal to date but if you guys..you know...like, do it then thats another story. If hes over 18 you have to be 18 or at least 17 in some places otherwise its known as stachatory rape and he could go to jail. But if your 16 and hes older you have to consider that he may just want some a** and/or hes a creep fro tyring to seduce someone as young as you. Id say stick with your age group till youre a bit older!

i dont think there are any laws about dating a minor but when you become sexually involved without parental consent, the adult could be charged with statutory rape wich would ruin the individuals life for good.you might want to check your local laws to check for such jurisdiction. you should really be concerned with other things in your life right now like education and family. myself as a father of a little girl would have a serious problem with this issue so maybe you should talk to your dad or mom first.

There are no age limits to LIKE someone. As a female, in the USA, you need to be 14 to 18 to have sex as your own legal choice -- the age of consent (AoC) varies by state -- see the chart below to know what is legal. 17 to join the army, 18 to vote, 21 to drink -- go figure.

There is nothing illegal as such if you only like him (or love him), but it is illegal if you share a physical relationship with him as he may be charged for 'raping a minor'. I think a person of your age should concentrate on studies first and think of all these things later as they might affect your career.

Sex may NOT be legal, depending on the laws of your state (if you're in the U.S.) or other jurisdiction. You don't say where you are, so I can't be more precise.
