I have to lose 30 lbs from Jan 1-April 31! 4 total months! Any ideas on what I should do to lose weight?

Control your carbohydrate intake. You will be amazed at how much weight you will lose. It's incredible.

15 grams of carbohydrates equal 1 carb. Now, take that equation and figure out how many carbs you are currently eating in one day. Measure, measure, measure and don't cheat ('cause you'd only be cheating yourself).

After you spend one or two days counting up your "normal" intake of carbs, take that number and cut it in half! That would be a good place to start. So if you are like me, I was eating 40 to 60 carbs a day (that's 15 x 60 = 900 grams a day!) I cut mine down to 6 carbs a day (6 x 15 = 90 grams a day). I've lost 40 pounds and have kept it off for 4 years.

Now, I also go to the gym every day and walk at least 2 miles.

You have to look at this as a change of lifestyle. If you don't, I can absolutely guarantee you that you will gain back every ounce you lost plus more! Diet's do not work - no matter what diet you use. You need to make the decision to change your lifestyle to a healthier and happier one.

My husband lost 75 pounds and is doing fantastic.

eat low calorie foods.
try to eat more fresh vegetables and fruit and definitely include milk in ur diet to remain healthy.
dont eat carbs or fats.cut down on ur junk food.if you wanna have a snack,prepare a salad or munch on an apple instead of chips or crackers.
start on some regular excercise such as cycling and walking/jogging that you will be aable to continue even after losing the required weight.
remember that weight loss is something very gradual and it requires a great amount of patience.wit until atleast two months for some changes to take place.

One of the most important things in losing weight is a support system. That's the benefit of weight watchers or jenny craig. If you don't want to spend money on those maybe you have a friend who will diet/exercise with you? And it should be diet and exercise, and focus on changes you can make part of your lifestyle, not a crash diet, unless you want to gain it all back right away

trying getting a treadmill or sumthin. every day u shood move ur arms up and down and left to right.
go around the block by jogging for a little while. u should lose at least 25 pounds.

Check out Weight Watchers; their program is great! (I'm on it and have lost 25 pounds). Also, drink lots of water (instead of soda, coffee, tea, etc.).
