Code 6 - unit has arrived to location, officers investigating

Code 6-Adam - unit has arrived, may need further assistance from nearby units

Code 6-Charles - Dangerous suspect (usually felony want or warrant reported); one-officer units stand-by for assistance

It is differant state to state and agency to agency. I have never used or heard of 06 charles or code 6 charles. to check warrants on someone in oklahoma law enforcement use 10-44.

Local city police here, some use standard codes that the state agencies use, bigger police departments have there own codes.

I used to be a police officer (patrolman) here in Louisiana. The code for checking registration is a 10-28. The code to check for warrants is a 10-29. We never used them in the town I worked in. We just asked the dispatcher for a registration check and gave their license plate number and drivers license number. For warrants we asked for the dispatcher to run a NCIC check and gave them the persons drivers license number.
