What real Geological evidence is there to support the world wide Flood myth of Noah?

High energy floods deposit large sediments in layers and can be traced back through time. If there was a world wide deluge as claimed by creation "science" there would be a universal, world wide layer of sediments and sedimentary rocks everywhere except for regions of recent (since the flood) volcanism. Is there such a layer?
Can you give me any non-creationist links that demonstrate this?

What evidence is there in Kansas City of the great flood of 50 years ago? There is none, because civilization and nature has washed it away.

Consider this, though. The misshaped skulls of the so called missing links may actually be the skulls of the children of the fallen angels. The were large, almost animalistic. They were born from the mixing of human genes with beings who base nature is an intelligent form of energy. Even though radiographic dating is based on a theory rather than empirical facts, the radiographic signature of these beings would have been different from other forms of life on earth.

None exist. The geological record also indicates massive continental drift that took place over hundreds of millions of years contrary to the biblical creationist model of the world being 6000 years old. Further if such were fact and the earth being the oldest entity in the universe (according to Genesis the earth was the first creation) how can these creationists explain the millions of light years distance of other galaxies?? The creationist museum in Tennessee shows dinosaurs living with humans and dinosaurs on the ark. Best description is silly. Best response they can come up with is you must have faith. Faith is a substitute for reason. Faith in what is proven false is irrational.

What college history book would discuss global prehistoric geology anyway It IS a proven fact the Earth was covered with water billions of years ago when primitive life first appeared. That was NOT a flood. Nevertheless it occurred long before the presence of vertebrates much less Noah and his ark. As for the presence of sea shells in mountain tops that actually refutes creationism as these areas that were once under water were pushed up from continental drift. Plates colliding created the Himilayas and fossils from earlier times are present in that sediment. Imagine a flood that covered the Earth would also have melted the ice caps. It would have taken an Ice age too..........never mind. Genesis doesn't mention an Ice Age so it never happened. (sarcastic sneer) Can't believe anyone still buys this superstitious clap trap.

There is no such geological evidence which I am aware of. Since there are a number of ancient flood myths, it has been suggested by anthropologists that these myths are the result of the last Ice Age when ocean levels rose considerably around the world. Also, it should be noted that human settlement tend to congregate near bodies of water, making them susceptible to floods, which are the most deadly (not most damaging) form of natural disaster.

I read about this once. The problem Christians have is this: According to the bible, the earth is only 6000 years old, but dating any sort of sediment line deep in the soil far outdates that 6000 years. So, to avoid yet ANOTHER contradiction in the bible, the Christions don't like to talk about it.

And oh, there is only a few sediment layers found in soil that speak of excess water, and they were layed down by the last few ice ages. The last one was 10,000 years ago, the one before that was 40000 years ago...kinda conflicts that bible thing a little bit.

Oh what a coincidence-the highest mountain in the world and there just happen to be sea shells there and of course no one would have any incentive to put them there. As it happens there isn't enough water on the entire planet and in the atmosphere to cover even half of everest but creationists don't worry about mere technicalities like that. Unbelievable-I don't believe the things I'm reading with my own eyes-nutters.

Not being an expert on the subject by any means but I would like to throw this out there. All over the world there are fossilised bone of animals, sometimes grouped together in what appears to be massive graveyards (Baker, 1996). These fossil graveyards show evidence for large number of animals being buried quickly. Such fossil records in sedimentary rock include fossilised remains of fish. Under normal circumstances, fish would rot rather than be fossilised. Again, this points to some sudden calamity that buried vast numbers of animals quickly. great fossil graveyards that exist in every major country, especially the Americas. In these fossil graveyards vast numbers of creatures are violently mixed together. There are dinosaur graveyards in America and China with hundreds of dinosaurs mixed and buried together.

For what its worth, no where in the Bible does it say that the earth is 6,000 years old.

I personally don't believe the flood was worldwide, but rather a severe localized event. It's very difficult to imagine Mt. Everest being completely submerged in water. And that 40-days/40-nights time period? No, I try to live in reality, not Disneyland.

Go to the top of Mount Everst and you will find sea shells at the top. Thats a proven fact for ya. My sister when she was in college read in her history book about a flood that covered the earth. The flood is a proven fact.

Seashells at the top of Mt. Everest? Sure, not possible if you believe the world is 6.000 years old, but entirely possible (in fact likely) if the Earth is 4.5 billion years old and you account for subduction and continental drift.

Yes there is such a layer. I don't recall the scientific name for it off the top of my head, but if you talk to any well trained geologist, he/she will assure you it is true. YBIC
