I got my Tragus pierced back in October of this year. For about 3 weeks it was a little swollen and tender to the touch with a slight reddish hue.

But that all went away about 2 months ago. Now for the past 3 weeks or so I've had this slightly raised lump directly above yet connected to the piercing (nothing on the reverse side). It isn't sore or tender to the touch, not squishy as if it were filled with fluid yet not rock hard. I havn't noticed any secretion of any kind. I have read that infections are usually bright red, swollen, tender, and often times accompanied by secretion.

I normally wash it 2 times daily with a softsoap/dial as well as a non-iodized salt soak in hopes of draining any fluid caught in the bump before I go to bed. Everything seems in order yet 3 weeks later I still have this bump, so I really don't know what it is nor how to remedy it Maybe trauma while sleeping and if thats the case, I can't do much about it?

Thanks in advance :)

This happened to me. It's hypertrophic scarring. Don't worry, there's hope.

I use satin soap once a day, which i purchased from my piercer. Then I started the daily saline soaks, which i had abandoned. 1/4 tsp to 1 cup water for ten minutes. I also bought this H2ocean spray that really seemed to help and used it a couple times a day. It's only sold by professional piercers.

It took a couple weeks for mine to get better. I was totally freaked out about it. My piercer said it's most likely because I had been sick right before this happened, and because the winter air is so dry. I'd had my piercing for over six months when it happened.

Whoever pierced you is an fool. are not getting pierced by utilising them ever lower back. Cartilage would not heal that speedy and you're actually not meant to alter it in any respect in the time of the healing technique - which will worsen the crap out of your piercing and avert healing. i'm doubting it truly is contaminated, you in simple terms could desire to go away it on my own for some months to grant it time to precise heal.
