I am regularly out of the office and the cell phone allows me to stay in touch with clients and complete tasks that I otherwise would not be able to do. This has translated into a 17% increase in client turnaround (as in more clients billed in a day). Also, now that I have a "crackberry" I use less time per client for the same results because I'm able to reply to messages when I have a spare moment. I also have some long winded clients, and email makes it shorter. LOL

It's better than having a home phone. I have had my cell for 5 yrs. and by year two I cut off my house phone. Especially since I was charged 50 dollars whenever I moved to transfer my phone line with me. When you look at it, it's just more convenient. as long as you are not excessive, I don't answer it when I'm at work and when I'm busy. I treat it like a home phone which tends to piss off my friends and family cause they feel like since I have a cell I should always be ready to pick it up. That's the problem now days people can't part from their phones. My mom will go crazy if she forgets her cell at home, she'll drive back to go get it even if she is close to her destination. Me I couldn't care less.

in case of emergency. imagine someone being in a car accident and the person will die if he does not receive immediate medical assistance. so if u have a cell on hand it won't take u more than a second to dial 911, but if u r on the free way and there is no pay phone nor cell phone. how would u feel if the person dies because u couldn't call for help. it is very important i think.

I have a Cell phone because I have a home business and I would miss calls that need immediate attention. i go about my daily errecnds and don't miss important phone calls. I also feel safer. I was glad I had it one day when I had a heart attack and was able to call 911. Other than those reasons I think people hang on to their Cells way tooo much.

Convenience, mostly. Living in a big city like I do, and working in a not-so-great part of town, I find having a cell phone very comforting -- I know that I can call for help if I have car troubles or if I get lost.

in case of emergency and the convenience but alot of people take advantage of that convenience by talking and driving, all out in public talking about nothing. If you're smart and have no real business to tend to just use it when u have to. It can save u alot of money and mins./because a lot people are just being wasteful thats why I have a VirginMobile pay as u go phone and I save a lot that way (pay less than $100 a year for service & the phone/cute phones to).

i don't even have a house phone, just a cell phone. which is better for me i guess, since i'm not ever home. except i might have to get a house phone cuz my son's doctors are sucking up all my minutes.

i don't think it's necessary to pay for both a house and a cell phone, only one or the other, unless you have to have one for work or something like that.

20 yrs ago no one had cells phones or home computers, now a day's we think we couldn't get by without them.

It's technology!
