it can be very drying. i would put some conditioner in towel dried hair before getting in the water. or at the very least, wash your hair and condition it well once you get home each time.

Sea water dries your hair out & strips the hair of its natural oils. Sea water and water containing chlorine (such as the kind that will get into hair after a person goes for a swim) should immediately be washed out by clean water because water has a long-term hold in hair.
To prevent this use a mild shampoo, and not too frequently. Instead, wash with water and use a leave-in conditioner.
Before swimming, wet hair with tap water to saturate it, which leaves less capacity for your hair to soak up chlorinated or salt water. A thick conditioner adds even more protection. After swimming, immediately rinse hair. Whether you shampoo or not, use a deep conditioner.
Sea water also increases the tendency to get split ends, so during the summer you should get at least a half inch trim every month. but, this is not totally necessary, just to keep your ends healthy.
HOPE I HELPED!! :]

As you know, it's salty which has a tendency to dry your hair out. Rinsing your hair with fresh water after you've been in the sea helps - then shampoo and condition. But getting rid of the salt water before it dries in you hair works well.

u should wet your hair in the shower first before you get in there because hair is somewhat like sponge and it will absorb more sea water if it's dry. i'm not sure what sea water does to your hair but i don't think it's good for it. hope this helped a little bit.

if it is salty and you are out in the sun, it will dry it out and damage it. cause the combination of sun and salty water isn't good for the hair. I suggest you use the conditioner that comes with the shampoo that you use (but not too much cause it is not that good with conditioner either) Try a leave-in creme for your hair or a wash-out creme both are good. Choose one for dry hair, sometimes you can even find products for the hair that has been exposed to salty water and sun during the summer. cut your tops, not too much 1-2 inches will be good. and dry it well after showering, cause it will become dry if you go out with wet hair in the air outside, it is best to dry it with a towel..
That is it.. Good Luck :)
