I've always used Norton and i've never had any problems. Most big companies use it also. In the end it's probably just a personal choice. I'm sure all the top ones are very good.
Like any company who is number one in their respective field, there are going to be a lot of people who say "norton sucks" or something to that effect. Just disregard it and know that there is a reason why Norton is the number one antivirus software available.

ever since Norton was purchased by Symantec, their products have not been as good and their customer service has declined.
I don't know what is the best, but anything other than Norton should be OK. Check out Computer Associates.

Norton is quite a hassle for my computer. AVG is getting kind of irritating as it updates every time the computer is switched on. But it's useful in that way, yes? Anyway, AVG is free, so I don't mind. ^_^

I'm very happy with Norton. It's stopped some frightening viruses from getting through on my computer, and I have not had any problems with it. It's worth the cost to me.
