Have you read Lord of the Flies?
Either you find land no one has "claimed" and set up a government, or you start a coup in an existing country, or you go about getting elected/becoming next in line of succession.

First you find an island or parcel of land that isn't ruled by any country. Then you requisition the local surrounding governments for border restrictions....if the land is owned by anyone, including a government, you would have to buy it. Then there's the fun part about writing a constitution, electing a government, building an economy to keep up with the rest of the world, etc. I'd like to know, first, what you think you could accomplish with ten square feet of unowned land....

Occupy some land of your choice, preferably with people to support you. Hold it by whatever means necessary. Govern this land and the people any way you wish. The rest of the world will give your type of government a name.
Most of the good land on this planet is already taken by someone who will fight pretty hard to keep it, usually with friends who will help them out.
Antarctica might be a good place to start. Although it is protected by many internaional treaties, I don't think many countries have the heart to go to war over a frozen wasteland.

That is virtually impossible. Unless you have the military power for a coup d'etat, or you find undiscovered land and claim it as your own, you have no chance whatsoever at starting your own country.

We as a Nation have given up the practical occupation of Democracy.....Diplomacy is becoming a lost Art. Too often Ambassadorships are political payoffs. Lots and lots of fat cat Businessmen who raised big bucks for their Party are given these positions as virtual "thank you Notes".
We need Real
DIPLOMATS.
RIGHT NOW.
And Real Diplomacy.

You need to start by overthrowing a small country and then move on ffrom there. You might start with Cuba. You know he is pretty sick. Catch them when they are weak and battle will be easier.
