chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken... lay a little egg 4 me!
A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face. The egg, looking a bit pissed off, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says, "Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question."

From strictly a religious view point the chicken came first. God created the creatures of the sea on the 5th day and the creatures of the land on the 6th day, which was when he also made man and woman. It was after he created the animals and man that he said "Be fruitful and multiply". So, the chicken had to come first because the egg couldn't be fruitful and multiply. The egg was the product of the chicken which occurred when the chicken multiplied.

When God created the Earth and was adding the animals... he said, let there be chickens... not let there be eggs. Therefore the chicken came before the egg. Haha Happy 2 Help

This is kind of tricky to understand, and to get it you have to follow evolutionary theories. The egg. Today's domestic ("perfect" as i'll use for example) chicken, came from an egg that was laid by an "imperfect" chicken hundreds of years ago. When the "semi-imperfect" chicken laid the "perfect" egg, that "perfect" chicken came to be.
