i am chistening my two children in a few weeks time. Everything is set but the reception. there will mostly be elderly people i was thinking sandwhichs,cakes, ect does any have good ideas for nibblies to serve?

With older people dont make things too "fiddley" they tend to be basic eaters. They wont touch anything they don't know what it is. Sandwiches and easy to pick up stuff will suffice. Don't forget "goodie bags" of some description as they all love them. Even if its just some sugared almonds and a piece of christening cake ............ makes em feel special .......... believe me .....

why dont you go down to your closest delicatessen and get some sausage rolls, samoosas, and pastry's, baklava, kataifi,
mini cheese pies those kinds of things that's what i did for my daughters christening and was complimented on the snacks

i bought 3 packs budding meats put cream cheese in bowl added dry soup mix blended took a spoon spread it on each piece of meat rolled them up chilled them made a punch out of frozen orange juice lemonade apple juice put scoops of sherbet ice cream floating on top can also dump a 2 liter in it like sprite i also took burrito shells mixed cream cheese sour cream diced tomatoes (can drained ) black olives etc...blended can use mixer on sour cream and cream cheese first spread on shells chill cut in 3 pieces use the large shells makes 30

You can never go wrong with Cocktail weenies, stuffed mushrooms, mini pizzas:)
