Im asking this question for my parents.
My 7 year old sister has been snoring, loudly, for over a year. I can hear it in my room with the fan on and she's across the hall. Her tonsils are constantly swollen, they now cover her throat but they don't bother her when she talks or swallows food. She also breathes loudly, not so loudly you can hear it across the room, but if she's sitting next to you, you can hear it.
She's healthy, no constant ear infections (I had that growing up), she did have strep throat on and off for about three months last spring, but that's been it. She's very active, not overweight and her growth is very normal.
She has an appointment to visit a specialist, but we are all very curious what the diagnosis might be. Her pediatrician also mentioned sleep apnea (sp).
My mom and I both have our tonsils and adenoids removed.

She's at a perfectly healthy weight.
As for allergies, she isn't constantly stuffed up or showing the other symptoms. Yesterday she had some allergy problems because we found a kitten and she was holding it and she's allergic, but last night she didn't actually snore.
