I had the same problem and I went to see a cardiologist and was told that there wasn't anything wrong with my valves or anything. I had inflammation near my breast bone. I was told to start participating in more physical activity regularly and haven't had it as often since. However, I would still suggest that you visit your doctor. Just to be safe.

Best diagnostic procedure is the Stress Test.

The participant has electrodes attached on the chest to monitor the heart's electrical system; blood pressure, respiration rate and oxygen level are also monitored.

The participant is then made to walk on a treadmill and the angle of the conveyor belt will vary from flat to incline; the speed from slow to fast.

The height, weight and age are taken into consideration and are combined with how the body will respond to the test. This will determine if you have problems with your heart.

You MUST see an specialist. When the heart is involve, all is serious.

On the other side, if you are not in shape, chances are your heart simply tires fast. That's why you should make exercise.

And are you sure it's your heart what's aching? aren't your lungs or diaphragm? If the pain increases as you breath...

But VISIT a doctor. Please.
