I usually put lots of garnishments in my pho, I like mine salty and spicy. Tho when I usually go to a Pho restarant I usually order something else other than pho. I guess i'm not much of a pho fan as others are. My friend makes pho from scratch, with Ox tail and all for soup base... totally home made. Its a lot of work but its fresh and it goes fast!

When I go Toronto ON in Canada I like to have the one with the rare beef, tendon and tripe, I also prefer the Vietnamese corinader over cilantro, and alway used the basil and chilis served, once I have finished the broth and the meat I douse the noodles with hot sauce and soya.
With the amount of Vietnamese food ingredients around it is easier to make it at home, rice noodles are more available, there are soup stock base cubes and the rest is available at your local grocery store.

I like the regular kind with beef, some soy sauce, some oyster sauce, bean sprouts, a squirt of lime, and some mint or basil. Delicious!

plain, rare beef and basil. I dont eat the basil, just let it soak into in soup to release its flavor. Red onions, fresh ground pepper.
