I think that your friend is crossing the line. You respect her choice to become a vegetarian and don’t badger her about it or yell at her to become a meat eater. You have a reason for not becoming a vegetarian (your parents). Try to talk with your friend about how she’s making you feel. Tell her that she’s putting you in a corner and that while you respect her decision to become a vegetarian, you can’t at the moment because your parents won’t allow it.
Hope this helps, Happy New Year!!!

Totally. My sister had the same problem. She kept trying to become a vegetarian. But, the parents said NO. She felt left out of her friends cuz they were vegetarians. But, if she thinks you have to eat a certain way she is so in over her head. She should accept you for who you are...vegetarian or not. It's just a meal that's coming between you guys. Who cares? She should just BACK OFF~

first of all, i would say that you should not let your parents stop you from being a vegetarian if you want to. they cannot shove meat down your throat if you refuse to eat it. but if it's just not something you want to do, you're right, your friend shouldn't bother you about it. try talking to her, maybe say something like "look i respect that you don't eat meat but i don't criticize your diet so i would appreciate if you left me alone. if it really bothers you that i eat meat, maybe we can find some great vegetarian meals to make together, but i'd like to become a vegetarian on my own terms." you could also ask them for help dealing with your parents. make sure they understand that you respect their decision but just aren't ready to do it yourself yet.

I agree with you. I grew up in a family that hunted... and decided to dabble with vegetarianism when I moved out of their house. However, I never pressed the issue on any friends or family, knowing that it was my choice or belief and not theirs that caused me to want to stop eating meat.

I totally agree. I would tell her that you don't apperciate her forcing her beliefs on you. If she still continues to get angry at you because she doesn't like that you can't be a vegetarian I would really re-think how good of a friend she is to you.

Just tell her to keep her opinons to herself, why is she pushing her beliefs on you that's really rude. LOL just eat a veggie burger and say "ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!?". Yeah I'm not like that though, I did when I first became a veggie but I don't anymore.

i agree, it is your choice. no one should make that decision for you. i am a vegetarian, and i respect people who aren't, because i know and understand that not everyone believes the same things. stick with what you want, not what your friends want.

it's not right for your friend to do that because friends are not supposed to change your beliefs and then other people get mad at you. they are not your boss or ruler. people have done that to me in school because i'm a vegetarian. i have 2 friends who are vegetarians.

Yeah I agree. She's not really your friend if she doesn't respect you for who you are. And anyway it's not your fault you can't be a vegeterian. Right?
