The best rule I've learned over the years of hosting New Years Parties is to serve something that can be eaten with one hand, while holding a drink in the other......I do raw veggie platters, mini deli platter with meats & cheese along with mini bread ( in the deli section @ the grocery) I also do sausage balls, cheese ball w/crackers, coctail weiners in the crock pot with bbq & jelly.....mini quiches (in the frozen section), wings, egg rolls, etc....Pick about 6 - 8 dishes, delegate a few & you do a couple before the bash!! Happy New Year!!

I'm assuming it's not a dinner party. Party trays with a variety of cheeses and deli meats. There are all different types of snack crackers to go with that. Fruit trays with fruit that won't turn brown quickly. Shrimp cocktail with shrimp sauce. Oysters and herring but some people don't like that. Chips and dips.
If you can afford it have a bunch of trays made up by a caterer or local grocery store deli.
Happy New Year!

Okay there are many choice for food ideas. but some good ideas are to have black eyed peas(for good luck), cheese tray(just to have and eat),ordovires, veggie tray, fruit tray, any type of greens(for money), noodles of some sort(like alfredo, or any fancy pasta dish) which are for , cornbread (for wealth), and make sure that you have a wine or champagne available to toast in the new year. i believe that if you have these dishes at your party you will have good luck, money, and wealth. thank you and i hope that you consider using my choices.
