And no, I'm not South Asian. In fact, I was born in Argentina (and lived in many other countries; in fact, I live in Canada now) and my ancestry is a mix of Native American, Spaniard, German, Lebanese, Chinese (from Hong Kong) and African (Black).

COWS ARE VERY SACRED ESPECIALLY IN INDIA AND ROAM THE STREETS OF THE CITIES AND ELSEWHERE. THEY ARE GENTLE AND PROVIDE MILK WHICH IS A NEWBORNS FIRST NOURISHMENT. THEY ARE DOCILE AND PEACEFUL IN NATURE AND A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR US ALL BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE LOOK ELSEWHERE AND LOOK AT THE TROUBLE WE GET INTO.

Indians like cows because they are sacred. Many of their religious activities involve praying and feeding them on daily basis. Also, Hindu God "Krishna" was very fond of them.
Other than that it is a good source of dairy products. And so we have milk, cheese, cottage cheese, creams etc...

They are smart, gentle and trusting. My friend has a pet cow who begs me to pet her. Yes, the cow begs me to pet her by nuzzling me gently. Calves and cows can recognize some people and hold grudges against those who mistreated them.
BTW, cows are sacred to Hindus, not South Asians.
