Morningstar Farms makes a meatless sausage link that might be a decent substitute for pork with sauerkraut. I say "might" because I just bought some yesterday and haven't actually tried it yet.
If you go with that option, let me know how it turns out! I mean, we gotta have our good luck sauerkraut on New Years, right? :-)

people have different traditions on New Years Eve, Mine is a real sliver coin with a Salmon cracker. Ya it's an old family tradition

ehk sauerkraut has to be one of the most disgusting things i've ever tried. you guys can use an imitation meat but thats pretty processed. how abut tofu instead? just remember to season it like no other.

I eat it with my veggie dog which is extremely delicious might I add I am eating one right now!!! mmm mmmm yumm trust me you'll never tell the difference and much more yummier with much more flavahhhhhhhhhhh mhhmmmmmmmmmmm!

My sauerkraut always compliments my meat. Kraut was meant to be enjoyed with meat. Its not a side dish. You are disgracing your heritage.
