It is not clear exactly what makes the airways of people with asthma inflamed in the first place. Your inflamed airways may be due to a combination of things. Do you know if other people in your family have asthma, you are more likely to develop it. New research suggests that being exposed to things like tobacco smoke, infections, and some allergens early in your life may increase your chances of developing asthma.

It could be hereditary as the others have mentioned but that is not necessarily the case. The condition is usually triggered by one or a combination of factors. The most common is exposure to or inhalation of allergens that irritate the respiratory system such as smoke, dust or even odors or fragrances. If your immune system is good, then you should not be affected. If not, then it could trigger an asthma attack. It could also be from change of weather. It could also be viral (like catching a cold that eventually affects the rest of your respiratory system).
All of the factors merely indicate a poor immune system. That's why some people outgrow asthma.....because their bodies become more healthy. Others, because of constant exposure, develop it.

.Do you have asthma? Asthma can be hereditary and can be acquired. In my case we have in the family and there are some cases that is acquired meaning you inhale so much pollution or some element that trigger your immune system. So try to avoid inhaling some smokes from the cigar and others. Changing climate can trigger also asthma. So be careful
