I don't agree with the government's decision. Once again they are taking away our free choice. Of course the fat-cats who can afford to purchase their meats from a reliable source don't care. I wonder when the people are going to speak up and demand their rights to freedom of choice. We don't have any way of knowing if these products will eventually harm us. If it comes down to this, I think I am going to stop eating meat!

evaluate ailments like poultry flu and mad cow, that ought to spread a lot extra straight away between animals that are genetically similar. The extra regular those ailments are, the harder they're going to be to regulate, and the extra in all probability human beings will be contaminated. i'd also be careful of the cloning procedure, because it may have some unidentified result on the animal, that would nicely be secure in case you devour somewhat bit, yet risky in case you devour it daily. Or, the approach would nicely be secure on condition that performed completely, that's far less in all probability if cloning turns into extra accepted. And what occurs after numerous generations of cloning? Are the animals extra in all probability to develop tumors that pump out large parts of risky elements? i'd favor to carry close why that is being seen? Is it more cost-effective to generate a clone in a laboratory than to reproduce animals evidently? Is it extremely well worth the probability of a huge death interior the herd?

So, they've been cloning vegetable for YEARS, I've done it so have a lot of other people, are you afraid of eating cloned vegetables?

Well, I'm not afraid of eating a cloned animal.

Really eating a clone is probably a long way away yet. the law is just recognizing that fact that cloning is out there and we'll be eating them someday.

A clone is just a copy, just like I copied a plant, over and over again. The problem I have with cloning is that we'll end up with a very limited genetic pool, and anything that affect one clone will effect them all. Think potatoes in Ireland, they were mostly one strain and people starved to death because of it. Where as a diverse genetic pool some of the animals will be immune to whatever comes down the pike. That's what I'm concerned about.

My opinion is subject to change with new facts.

I think it's insane!--- is the price of leather going to go down?
Are they going to use all the cloned cow?
What's next?
Will we have new fast foodies
Mc Clone Burger's???

IN USA-- Obestity being #1 fastest growing health problem, we don't need to clone more fat animals with growth hormones, to feed to people knowingly or unknowingly!

Human's in America are growing bigger, taller, fatter and not healthier-- what are we adding to the food? growth hormones, and now cloning animals for processed meat??

I won't eat it. I cannot imagine that it's safe now!
What happens if they clone a mad cow? we have recall on that too?

AND with all this e coli with spinach, and onions and lettuce??

I'll just stick to grow your own veggies, and eat safe, healthy smart food.

I think the law is Insane and if we were to VOTE on it--
it wouldn't pass!!
ohhhhhhhh you've got me riled up now.

more reason to eat vegetarian, low fat, high protien.

What's the difference? A cloned animal is the same as the animal it was cloned from? You're not going to know the difference. Say you had a cow and a cloned cow standing next to each other, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The meat will taste the same, it has the same genetics as the original animal.

Unless you are a vegetarian, you have always eaten "cloned" meat much of the time when eating beef or lamb. Identical twins are common in cattle and sheep, and they are, by definition "clones", they just happened "accidently" instead of deliberately.

I think until the issues of degradation of DNA structure in cloned tissue is resolved it's foolish and I'd warn people NOT to eat it, especially pregnant women. The stupidity of having to PROVE a thing unsafe, instead of having to prove it safe, is why we have all sorts of new diseases an epidemics of old ones involving mutation of human cells.

I just think it's really weird, and seems really gross to me. I can't really explain, but just the fact that meat came from an unatural process. It just really freaks me out.
