thinking the eau claire area of wisconsin...i never thought to look for it at the seafood counter in the grocery stores - do they carry it? is it a seasonal product? can you buy it frozen? thanks! this is NOT for eating out, but to cook at home....

Call the Italian restaurants in your area.Octopus is hardly seasonal. And,yes,it's frozen.

If you live near Eau Claire if they have a Walmart supercenter with a seafood counter, they might have it fresh or at least frozen in the case right by it and they will have the best price I predict also.

How about your local bait shop?....OK, OK, The seafood counter is a good place to start. If they don't carry it, they can probably order it. Frozen squid is just as good (if not better) as fresh. It is not seasonal and should be available all year round. You might also check with a restaurant supply store too... Good luck

Also try Oriental markets. If worse comes to worse, find a friendly restaurant manager/chef who might split a case with you.
