Is smoking pot as dangerous as smoking cigarretts

The first, immediate danger is that the THC will remain in your system 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on how much fat you have (the THC is stored in your fat.) This means it is available to be detected by your work's drug testing all during that time. Positive = fired.
The second danger is, obviously, putting smoke in your lungs. That can't be good. But while tobacco has the tar, marijuana has over FORTY different carcinogenic chemicals. Note the deaths of both Bob Denver and George Harrison were from cancer (caused by their marijuana smoking.)
The less well-known danger is that marijuana WILL aggravate any mental illness. Not that it necessarily makes sane people insane (as was suspected 70 years ago) but that it makes insane people much worse, which is enough to make folks think that could happen to anyone.
And then there's what the suddenly very insane do to the innocent while more crazy.
The fourth danger is, of course, the damage and deaths from the delusional thinking that the THC causes: falls to DUI, anything can happen unless a sober person is effectively monitoring the dope session. Otherwise, the people will act like dopes.

Many people, especially young teenagers think that there is absolutly nothing wrong with smoking pot and getting high all the time. I myself, being a teenager, thought that I didn't need to know the facts. I just knew that I wasn't going to smoke anything or get high. However, when I joined a group from my school in 7th grade against drugs/alcohol/tobacco use, I got an oppurtunity of a lifetime. Once I was in 9th grade, I was offered the chance to represent my school at the Student Outreach Conference. We went to workshops and seminars on different issues facing teens. Every year, though most workshops are different, there is always one on marijuana. This is the most popular drug among teens today. The dangers of smoking marijuana include loss of memory, delayed reaction time, and other health issues. Marijuana messes with so many things in your body including your respiratory system and nervous system. It is extremely dangerous. While pot and ciggarettes are both very dangerous, marijuana is dangerous at the time of use. If a person is high, they are very likely to go out and injure themselves or someone else due to lack of control. Hope this helps.

The whole pot vs. cigarette debate has been going on forever. The verdict? They're both equally bad in different ways. Cigarettes have so many dangerous chemicals in them, it's disgusting. Don't smoke, it also make you smell really bad. As for pot, it really ruins your mental ability. Especially when you're high, it makes you do stupid things sometimes. Plus, it kills your brain cells, and why would you want to do that? Despite what people say, pot is NOT addictive. Well, it can be emotionally addictive, I have many friends who now do it every day for the heck of it. And it's not attractive, LOL. I can definately tell you that pot has changed them, and pot is a gateway to harder drugs. Don't do it.

I can honestly tell you as a parent that pot smoking is BAD for teenagers. I lived the life..dropped out after 11th grade. I now a have wonderful, talented son who spent his whole last year smoking pot, has now dropped out of school in 11th grade. When you smoke pot you have NO motivation! NONE! My only hope is that he comes to his senses and goes back to high school..or GED..then gets into Vo-Tech. I love him so much but know I cant make him do it..it is up to HIM.

cigarette smoking is injurious to health by causing cancer but is less intoxicant than pot. On the other hand pot is more intoxicating and acts on whole body and mind in particular. The brain cells get damaged on prolonged usage of pot and chances of becoming insane is very certain.

That is a MYTH.
Smoking pot, unless it is laced with something is not nearly as harmful as cigarettes.
Cigarettes have fiberglass in the filter, and/or menthol plus added chemicals which are all carcinogenic that destroy your lungs and cause cancer.
Pot causing cancer is a myth told to ppl so they'll be scared to/ less likely smoke it. (Plus our gov. wouldnt get ne $$$ from it).... It would take alot of smoke from a buttload of weed to give you cancer. In reality it is the processes/extra ingred. that make cigz more deadly.
Show me a study that shows pot is worse.
thats 100% bull$hit.....

yup...
maybe a little less because it's not mechanically processed like tobacco is.. Some carcinogen is added in the mechanical drying process.

and smoking pot kills brain cells like drinking alcohol.
oh, and it slows down reflex response even when you're not high.

In addition to the inhalation of smoke, in my opinion smoking weed on a regular basis can rob a person of his/her motivation to do other things. But I think it's an individual thing, really.

Maybe lung cancer is a possibility. Cancer can affect someone who's never smoked and someone who smokes like a chimney never gets it..peoples physiology's are different.
