I agree with the raw sugar (in moderation).
An alternative is the artificial sweetener.

I like stevia naturally no calories for tea and coffee, but healthier lower glycemic index sugar sources that can even be used in baking are : maple syrup (pure, grade B is best it even has vitamins) , agave nectar, and molasses isn't bad either-but it could change the taste more than the others. Maple and especially the agave nectar's flavors are easily masked with baking ingredients other than the sweetness. Either way sugar is to be used in moderation, we eat too much of it, especially corn syrups and refined sugars, we're addicted

There are no healthy sugars but if you had to eat it I would say fructose the sugar found in carrots tomatos and fruit. Fructose is a natural sugar. you could substitute apple sauce in your cookies or just eat fruit in your desserts.

stevia. it's an herb that's sweeter than sugar. I've only been able to find it in health food stores. Sugar in the raw is also good.

Unrefined brown sugar......as in the cane sugar your first answer gave you. The worst sugar is actually the refined white sugar that is present in everyone's home.
