Especially in females, heat beat tend to fluctuate a lot more. I learned in my physiology class that it's okay, but if it's happening for not reason, then you should be concerned. Another thing that worries me is that heart disease runs in your family. Keep in mind that the weather can easily trigger your heart beats.

it is not normal for the heart rate to jump that much for no apparent reason. If you exercise, or are startled or something then you would expect your heart rate to go up, but if it happens when you are simply sitting relaxed that is not normal. With the history of heart disease in your family, I would see your doctor to get at least a baseline ekg.

Are you under a lot of stress? This and a lot of other things like allergies can cause this to happen. Yes, you should see a doctor. If for nothing else, peace of mind. Have your parents make you an appointment with your doctor. Good luck young one.

It's normal, especially if you get tense all of a sudden... such as when you pay too much attention to your heartrate. ^_~
