Honestly, read the south beach diet book. Read what it has to say, read it for the science aspects. Little things people already know but do nothing about. Put all the pieces together for a big picture. Get the sugars, sugar producing carbohydrates, bleached out (enriched because they took the nutritional part out and had to add something back in) white flour, and prepackaged, processed foods out of your dietary habits. Exercise. Eat healthy.
If we don't stop guzzling the coke and scarfing down the processed easy fix food meals we're all going to be diabetics.
Anyway.. read that book, see if it makes sense to you. It probably will and you'll be doing that "i coulda had a v-8" motion... you know this stuff.... we all know this stuff.

If you are developing symptoms of type 2 diabetes then try to improve your diet. I foyu are developing symptoms of type 1 diabetes then there is not much you can do, just go and see the doctor or have a diabetes test.

Doesn't sound to me like diabetes. Did you start drinking water when you cut out the cokes? Dry skin is VERY common this time of year, buy some lotion.
You left out some of the symptoms, frequent urination. And it is actually a loss of appetite not hunger that is associated with diabetes.

Prevention is the same as controlling it if you have it (and it sure sounds like you do). Diet, exercise, weight control, and a few supplements like cinnamon. Read more on my diabetes info webpage:
