Alot of books teach me about STD's and other stuff but i don't understand what sexually active means? Can someone explain it to me?

Whether or not you are "sexually active" really depends on your definition of sexually active. There isn't one all-encompassing definition of sexually active. Every person defines for himself or herself what that means. For some people, being sexually active means some type of vaginal or anal sex, for some it means oral sex, and for other it might mean deep or French kissing. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Being sexually active has more to do with how you perceive and classify your own actions rather than how a dictionary would categorize them for you. Keep in mind that the same goes for defining abstinence. Some people say abstinence means no touching at all, while others define it as not having penetrative sex.

The term sexually active means are you or are you not having sex. Sexually active means= oral sex, intercourse and dry humping. Each of those three fall into the sexually active catagory. Even making out constituies being sexually active. What the books are trying to say are that if you're being physical with someone else, in any way, you're sexually active and you should look out for some of the consequences of being sexually active like STDs.

That means you have already started having sex. Not necessarily that you have sex on a regular basis, but if you have had sex at least once, then you are considered to be sexually active.

Being sexually active means that you have had sex. This includes oral, anal, vaginal and any other type of sexual activity. You can have sex one time and you are still sexually active.

I hardly believe this is a legitimate question but here goes. It means you are having sex with one or more people at that time in your life. If you haven't had sex for three months you would NOT be considered to be sexually active at the time.

It means that you have sex w/ people. The more sex you have with people, the more sexually active you are. By the way, the best way to prevent STDs and unplanned pregnancy is abstinence (not having sex with anyone until marriage). It's the way to go. Condoms is second best.
