doesn't want to have sex before they both go for a blood test to reassure each other that they don't have any sexually transmitted diseases?

That's my plan!
and then to use condoms consistently for the first 6 months since the tests aren't valid for shorter periods of time, and to establish the relationship as long-term, devoted and monogamous.

Of course, I can only hope to meet a real MAN that can use his brain, and doesn't let his other head make all the decisions...

My opinion is that you've found a rare guy that wants to be cautious. Chances are good that either he's been just as cautious wiprevious sexual partners or has had a bad experience. Go for the tests!

I think that he is a very smart man. These days, you can't rely on your partner telling the entire truth. With a blood test, the proof will be in the pudding so to speak.
