I have noticed that there seems to be a continuing problem with under-filling of Lantus brand insulin bottles. About 25 percent of the bottles I use contain less than 1,000 units. This is over a l-o-n-g period of time. It's not just one bad lot. Some bottles are slightly over-filled, but I get a LOT of Lantus bottles that contain 930-980 units instead of 1,000.

Has anyone else noticed this? I have complained to the pharmacists. They claim it's "impossible" for a drug company tio under-fill bottles. I am very accurate in my handling of dosages, and i know I am right.

you may very well be right, I noticed that too and thought it was part of the "settling" process during shipping. anyway, though, you are supposed to chuck it and get a new bottle every thirty days to guarantee the continued optimum effectiveness of the insulin. so please start doing that if you aren't already. you can only insert the needle into the bottle so many times before it starts to go bad. my doctor told me that and I believe it. why chance it anyway. insurance covers it.

We, too, use Lantus, and I agree, the bottles do not seem to be filled as well as Novalog or Humulin.

I would contact the company directly. I've had so problems with my insulin bottles here in Australia.
