I have worked with some catholic based HIV organizations and i was shocked that the catholic church prevents the use and bans distribution of condoms. Is'nt this hypocritical, to try to treat people while denying them the simplest methods of prevention?

I really dont believe that that is going to solve the HIV issue. We all knoe that faithfullness went out of the window generations ago. If you tell yourself that then you are lying yourself. i just wish people would open their eyes and see what real and whats not. You cant deny people the right to have sex. But atleast you can help by providing protection

Actually, it's not HIV specific, the church simply has a policy against birth control. That includes the pill, IUDs, and condoms.

Actually, the Catholic Church is right. The "simplest method of prevention" is not the distribution of condoms: it is abstinence, and fidelity within marriage. This is the ONLY thing that will stop the havoc caused by the spread of HIV in the world today. The answer is not to "cover up" the problem by distributing more condoms. The answer is to re-educate people to understand the true meaning of love. That is what the Catholic Church is doing.

The idea is that the simplest and most effective method of prevention of both HIV and pregnancy isn't condoms, but abstinence. The Church teaches that unmarried sex is forbidden, so it woudl be hypocritical to give out condoms and say "go ahead, have sex and be safe about it." They say "do not have sex unless you are married to a partner who is disease free, and if you have a disease, don't have sex."

Also, the Church still holds a ban on all birth control, so why should it change its practices for that specific reason and not the other?

i presumed there replaced into democracy and freedom of religion interior the Philippines. Why won't be able to the electorate of the Philippines who're Catholics employer to alter rules for the duration of the right criminal technique interior the Philippines? Can in basic terms non-religious people (Atheists?) participate interior the political section? The Church is basically a non secular physique yet she is likewise a ethical instructor. If all people is going to make ethical themes into political ones then they shouldn't ***** while the Church makes use of her freedoms of speech and faith. once you look on the a million.a million billion believers worshiping in over 200,000 parishes international you could discover that the Catholic Church is a non secular entity. however the Church is likewise a ethical instructor and has been coaching the international what she believes God thinks is suited and incorrect for in basic terms approximately 2,000 years. The Church seems to guard human dignity and human rights and would not for look for political capability. Church leaders are barred from political place of work via Church regulation, no longer civil regulation (Canon 285.3). Jesus reported, "bypass, as a result, and make disciples of all international locations, baptizing them interior the call of the father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, coaching them to computer screen all that I even have commanded you." (Matthew 28:18-20) The Catholic Church has been coaching international governments what she believes is suited and incorrect by using fact the classic Romans stopped persecuting her and long till now absolutely everyone heard of the liberty of speech. The Catholic Church protested with reference to the blood activities interior the Roman Colosseum and that they have got been stopped. The Catholic Church supported the Polish team spirit stream and the Soviet Union fell aside. i do no longer think of the Church is going to (or could) stop coaching the international governments what's suited or incorrect now. undergo in suggestions the Catholic Church proposes. She would not impose. With love in Christ.

The Catholic church bans condoms for the following reason:
They believe that the idea of natural procreation is G-d's work. If we prevent a pregnancy from happening we are defying him and the need to expand Christianity. Therefore so many Catholic families have 6-12 children. I was once a Catholic.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if a person infected with AIDS was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

With love in Christ.

Because condoms are not natural. Birth control is seen as supressing God's creation in a way that it should not be supressed because God said, "produce and multiply." You cannot produce and multiply if you are holding part of the process back. Plus, sex feels so much better without condoms.

Because the Bible says to "go forth and multiply"..thus no birth control, unless you want to do the rhythm method... (AKA how to have Irish twins..siblings 18 months apart).
