then why dont we have to make a concious effort not to snore while we are awake?

Because we don't relax our throats the way we do when we sleep, nor do we spend our time laying down and compressing our airways.

i guess it has to have somethign to do with what our bodies are doing when we're sleeping.

usually you're lying quite prone when you're asleep so it's easy to understand if any blockage or restriction happens that causes the snoring...

what i'd love to know is if there are any sleepwalkers that still yawn when they're up and about. that would really tell us something about the phenomenon (snoring).

If you can get people to unconsciously snore, you might say that you could be 'champion' at starting up an "Involuntary Choir"!!
Imagine a personally, hand-selected full room of them sleeping!!!!!!!!!!

Drink more quantity of water specially before going to bed.

are you an idiot? look up snoring online and you will see what causes it...
