I'm a female and i'm 18 years old. I've only had two sex partners. More than two years ago, i had '' sex '' for the first time, but as soon as he went in me , within a minute i stopped it cuz i wasn't sure. The guy didn't come inside of me. Now two years later i've been sexually active with someone else ( who has been tested b4, and is totally clean) but i have been getting little bumps around my vagina, it's red, and sometimes it burns. Also i have cough and high fever. I'm worried about the guy that i had two years ago because even though it was for a minute we didn't use a condom( AND THAT WAS THE ONLY TIME I EVER HAD SEXUAL CONTACT WITH HIM) , and i know he has been around alot. Is it possible for me to have any kind of STD ( especially herpes) , and symptoms show two years later???
PLEASE HELP ME , I'M VERY UPSET OVER THIS!!

Yes it is possible. Herpes does not necessarily present itself immediately. It can lie dormant and appear with symptoms later.
Also.... did the guy you were with more recently show you the medical report, or are you taking his word for it? How long ago was he tested?
Some STDs are spread very quickly with any bodily fluid contact. The guy doesn't have to ejaculate to give you something. Often, there is pre-*** from foreplay alone and if the guy entered you with any fluid at all seeping out, you can get a disease.
I strongly suggest you get with your health department to learn more about STDs and educate yourself more, if you intent to continue fornicating with men.
Best Wishes,
Sue

Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1) is generally associated with oral herpes, HSV-2 is associated with genital herpes.
Primary genital herpes (meaning you recently contracted the virus and if the first time you are sick):
there is an incubation period of 4 to 7 days from the time the virus is transmitted till symptoms apperar:
- Fever
- headache
- malaise
- muscle pain
- local pain
- pain with urination
- itching
- vaginal discharge
- local lymphadenopathy (large and/or painful lymph nodes)
- the vesicles start out as red itchy bumps usually in a cluster, they become fluid filled vesicles on a red base, last one to two weeks, ulcerate and then heal
- some people can have absolutely no symptoms the first time they contract herpes
with Recurrent genital herpes (you had it before, or you contracted the virus a while ago and might have been asymptomatic) is basically the same story except there is usually no fever, headache and general feeling of sickness, just the burning, itching and then the vesicles.
If you go to your doctor he/she can diagnose herpes in different ways:
- swab the area with lesions and look under the microscope for characteristic cells (Tzank smear)
- swab the area and do a DNA test to see if it is herpes
- Do a blood test looking for antibodies against the virus
you sound like you are very concerned and upset over this, you should go to a doctor or clinic and sort it out.
Best of luck.
NOTE: one of the answers mentioned pap-smear: Technically, pap-smear is a test specifically done to test for cervical cancer, it involves inserting a speculum and swabbing the cervix with a special brush. While different tests for STD's can also be done at the same time, it is not always the case. As far as herpes goes lesions may be present inside the vagina and on the cervix, but the swab for DNA can be taken from any ulcer on the skin (ie no speculum, no pelvic exam)

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 4 yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I realize a lot of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/u4EXY everything got better.
Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the hsv from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided me the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

The only way to know for sure is to see your doctor. If you do have herpes, don't panic. Although there is no cure, there are treatments out there that can lessen the severity and frequency of outbreaks and if you practice safe sex you can decrease any chances of spreading it to any present or future partners. Good luck to you.

It could possibly be an STD or it could be a yeast infection. You're only going to get clear answers if you go to your gyno. If you don't have one get one because once you hit the age of 18 you need one. I don't know the incubation period for herpes, but two years is a long time. Go get checked and don't be afraid.

Nobody can diagnose you for sure over the computer. the only way you can feel better is to go get tested b/c then you will know 100%. You have no idea who is answering your questions esp. when it is a serious question like your asking. from my understanding herpes are painful. you may or may not have it i don't know only a doctor can tell you. even if you don't have insurance there are free clinics. dont let anyone diagnose you over the computer go get checked asap!

Yes, it's possible, and yes, it sounds like herpes (especially since you have a fever). You need to see a doctor ASAP!
