Pneumonia shouldn't cause Diabetes- but sometimes the treatment for pneumonia may increase your blood sugar
(steroids, bronchodialators,etc). My suggestion would have a repeatg fasting blood sugar done and a Hb A1C (ask yoiur MD what it is) afteryou are better.

Any stress like pneumonia can cause temporary or permanent diabetes if that person has family history of diabetes or is over weight.

It is not likely the pneumonia, but the meds used to treat it. Many meds can temporarily suppress the output of insulin (from the pancreas).
