I have Windows ME. Since it's Windows, and Windows ME, I have to un-properly restart the computer 20 times a day. Every time I do this, ScanDisk starts. It doesn't do anything since it's Windows ME. How do I get it to stop loading whenever the computer has been un-properly restarted.

Don't say how Windows sucks and how I should switch. I already know it sucks and I can't switch.

I have to un-properly restart it because it is Windows ME. Windows ME has many problems that I guess Microsoft gave up on, since it no longer supports it. I have to restart it because it freezes, stops doing anything, etc.

I doubt that ScanDisk on Windows ME fixes any problems. Maybe on other operating systems but Microsoft screwed up on Windows ME.

Advance Windows Care doesn't support Windows ME/didn't/couldn't install.

That is the nature of scandisk. It is there to protect your computer from errors caused by improper shutdown. You need to fix the cause of having to improperly shut down your computer for this to go away.

Maybe it's me, but I find your question as written confusing.

When you improperly power off, then power on, Scandisk will run. That's the nature of the beast. This begs the question: why are you improperly shutting down?

As for "Windows sucks" -- I don't find it so. After years of working on the computer I have found that when something goes wrong, I have issued commands too close together or incorrectly. The PC is a dumb machine that is only capable of doing what we tell it to do.

Please expand on your question.

Honest answer, I don't know, but a free downloadable program called Advance Windows Care might help. If it does, great, if it doesn't maybe somone else can help. Best of luck, and, oh, Merry Christmas to you and yours.
