What is level-1 & level diabetes?

is it a case of diabetes if it had shown 2 yr back & 6 month back without taking controlling pills. What should be done to confirm that diabetes exist

Registered Nurse here; First there are 2 different types of diabetes. One is Juvenile Diabetes diagnosed on or before the age of 16. The other type 2 diabetes, which usually occurs around or after the age of 40. However it can occur at anytime. I have had type 2 diabetes since the age of 28. Not overweight, nor did I have a family history of the disease. Just a little history to share about diabetes. Your doctor should have told you if you have diabetes or not. A very simple blood test, known as blood glucose tells the story. Lets one know if they are borderline, or beyond. If one is borderline, many times blood sugar can be controlled by diet alone, if blood sugar fasting is above 240, usually requires an oral hypoglycemic agent, if this doesn't control the blood sugar, then a combination of oral medication and insulin injection is usually prescribed, still not controlled go to straight injections of insulin. I'm sorry I didn't fully understand the question, I hope this answers your question. Thanks for the opportunity to address a question as important as this one.

type one is insulin dependant diabetes most people are born with this


Type two is non-insulin dependent diabetes this is normally caused by genetics and obesity. This one doesnt always require medications to keep under control. If your normal blood sugar ranges between 70-140 that is normal If you have periods over that you can be diabetic. The doctor will either do a fasting blood sugar or a HGbA1C which checks your monthly sugar average. Check with your physican about a HGbA1C check and see if this is in a normal range. OR you can get a gluco meter and check 4 times a day and keep record and let your doctor know.

if your parents or grand parents had diabetes then after 40 years you can have diabetes . take your meal and after two hours give your blood for test .if blood sugar is 140 then you have diabetes.i don't know about the level. there are two types of diabetes type -1 and type-2 In type -1 pancreas do not produce enough insulin Insulin converts sugar to glucose .this patient need insulin injection. you need to go to your doctor and tell him you want a glucose tolerance test. that usually confirms whether your body can process sugar correctly or if you have insulin dependant or noninsulin dependant diabetes. You will drink a glucose (sugar) drink and they will take your blood once every 4 hours. Do be ready to be in the lab for 4 hours for that blood test. It is worth it if you want to find out whether or not you have diabetes or not. Ask for a Glucose Tolerance Test.
