It doesn't sound like asthma. I would prefer to think that there may be an allergen in your room that may be triggering it. Also, we cough more when we lay down because of drainage. I would do a serious cleaning job in your bed room. Also, you can get spray to put on your mattress that will kill dust mites and other live allergen that may be irritating your airways. Try not to burn candles or incense in the bedroom.

If you are heating your home, it may be just the lack of humidity in the air which can result in a dry cough, and eventually bronchitis. I would suggest you try using a humidifier if you have one. Or you can use an open pan of water close to your bed at night. Use saline solution in your nose before bedtime and drink lots of water. This is a very common problem in winter months. Godloveya and blessed holidays!

You don,t need to be born with asthma, my daughter started having attacks at the age of four. Your symptoms sound like allergy, you might have something in your room, like dustmites that is affecting you. You can buy anti allergy pillows and bedlinen. Dont clean your furniture with sprays just use a damp cloth everyday. I hope this helps you.

I actually had the same thing for about three weeks, I finally went to the doc and he told me to try a vaporizer not a humidifier in the bedroom and it worked. I have no idea what the difference was but it worked. I hope it works for you too. Good luck

you might be allergic to dust, or some other allergen that is present in your room. and asthma can develop and you don't necessarily have to be born with it, especially if you're around a lot of second hand smoke or if you yourself smoke.
