No. They are the nutritionally the same. The only difference between the two is how they are grown. Green asparagus grows normally, but white asparagus has dirt piled around and over it (or it is bent over so it continues to grow underground) so the light never reaches it, so the chlorophyll in the plant does not turn it green. Some say that white has a different texture, but I have never noticed it. We always used it purely for aesthetic purposes.

White asparagus apparently has more fibre than its green cousin.* Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be a large difference in nutritional content. Websites don't acknowledge any differences between white and green asparagus except a few things:
1) White asparagus spears are grown underground to prevent chlorophyl from developing, resulting in a white color.
2)White asparagus is much more popular in Asia and Europe than in the United States.
3)White asparagus has a more "fruity" flavor than green asparagus (I'm not a connoisseur, so I wouldn't really know)
Hope that helps.

There shouldn't be any real nutritional difference between the two. White asparagus just doesn't see the sun ... it is covered with sand as it grows.
