Growing up it was Christmas NIGHT and was: Turkey, Ham, Mashed potatos, Stuffing, Gravy, Green Beans, Peas, Carrots, & Dinner Rolls.

In my 20's I moved it to a Spiral-Cut Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Peas & Onions & Mushrooms, and Cresent Rolls during the Christmases I wasn't out at sea with the US Navy.

In my late 30's I started making a Crusted Prime Rib, Yorkshire Pudding, and Green Beans... preceeded by French Onion Soup.

When I was little it was the turkey dinner with stuffing and all that.
Then we switched to a lasagna with caesar salad.
For the last couple years there has been no tradition, really.
Sometimes Christmas is with my hubby's family who are originally from the south of france, sometimes it's just us at home and we do a cheese fondue or a raclette.
This year I called dibs on hosting Christmas so it's both families (Canadian & French) and we're having all new recipes, nothing traditional about it except that we'll all be here, there will be presentd & a tree, and christmas crackers on the table.

PS: I miss the frozen lasagna days!!!

Prawn cocktail, fresh from the sea. My dad is a fisherman.
With champagne

Organic farm fresh Turkey, with herb and sausage stuffing
Roasted beets
Baked yam and apples with maple butter
Green beans with garlic, Parmesan cheese and pine-nuts.
Mashed Potatoes
Gravy
Cranberry and orange relish.
With a light Pinot Noir or an
Alsace Gewurztraminer Slightly off-dry

Pumpkin Chiffon Pie
Plum Pudding with hard sauce
With an aged Muscat.

It used to be prime rib but I got tired of paying $9.00 a pound for more fat than meat. This year my son requested turkey breast so I bought a couple of breasts with the pop up timers and will serve the traditional stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and so on. I think the breasts are more healthy eating than the prime rib. We'll see how it goes. Maybe start a new tradition.

I come from a Mexican household with somewhat American traditions. We ALWAYS end up with the same menu...
turkey, spaghetti and/or fettucini, mashed potatoes and gravy. For dessert, we have rollo de nuez (which is a rolled up cake with cajeta filling covered with crushed walnuts or pecans...delicious) and apple/pecan desert (which has diced apples, pieces of pecans, and cool whip). Can't wait to eat up!Merry Christmas!

When the family was still around, we always made a goose with stuffing, risotto or mashed potatoes, red cabbage, of course gravy.
That pretty much stuffed you.

All that lard gathered from the goose during cooking is wonderful to use in cooking afterwards.

Rib roast imbued with garlic cloves, Fettucini with butter and garlic sause, asparagus tips wrapped in pastry and cheese, and Cheesecake for dessert.

My mom always made a pork roast w/ gravy, potato dumblings, red cabbage, and salad. for desert were all the little German X-mas cookies. Gee, wish Mom was coming...
